Gary Matthews is a nationally recognized expert in the healthcare industry with more than 30 years of consulting experience, primarily
with physician practices. His consulting role focuses on group practice organization and development; healthcare
mergers and acquisitions;
practice governance structure; integrated healthcare systems development and management; practice and ambulatory care center valuations;
hospital-owned practice re-organizations; practice financial modeling and management; managed care contract strategy planning and
negotiations; and healthcare marketing and market-driven strategic planning.
Frequently published, Mr. Matthews is also a speaker for
such organizations as the American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, American College of Physicians-American Society
of Internal Medicine, many state and local medical
societies, and national and state medical specialty organizations.
Mr. Matthews
received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in Bio-Medical Sciences from Washington
University in St. Louis. He was a faculty member at the University of Oklahoma, Health Sciences
Center where he taught Medical
Economics. He currently teaches Better Practice Management at Emory University and Morehouse College School of Medicine and
many other physician training programs in the Southeast.
